What a delight it was to spend time with Alan and his son, Andrew. It was as if no time had elapsed since we were last together, shortly after Alissa's birth. I'm amazed at the memories that bubbled up as we reminisced. My short term memory sucks yet I can't believe I remembered the names of Alan's neighbors on Long Island when we were in elementary school.
In honor of the past we had amazing New York-style pizza for dinner and then sat outside on his deck talking until late.
